Increased patient complaints against doctors reflect the role of social media and negative coverage of the medical profession, according to a report initiated by the UK General Medical Council. The report said the amount of the increase in complaints against the doctor doubled between 2007 and 2012 Quoting the BBC, in 2007, the number of complaints reached 5,168 cases. After five years later, the number of cases increased to 10 347 pieces. Once traced, the cause turns out there are a number of trends that allegedly makes people more likely to complain about their doctors. Social media also has a role in the rising complaints against physicians. Because the social media people are encouraged to discuss their experiences with the medical profession in the public forum and allow information to be easily accessed and shared.
